It's hard to believe that we've been doing this for 12 years. There have been a lot of changes since the beginning, but one thing remains the same, Michael Jankovec, has been the personality and driving force since the beginning.
There are a few changes for 2012. Good changes. This year, the entire event will take place at the festival site. This will eliminate driving or the need to secure a ride to another location. This includes the Mardi Gras kickoff party and all after parties.
We are adding a huge event tent for 2012. Between band change overs on the main stage, you will be able to enjoy additional bands at the tent stage without missing a beat. Also new for 2012, an educational stage run by Kevin B.F. Burt!
Kevin will be teaching kids and adults harmonica lessons and some history of the blues.
Stop by the tent and learn to play the blues and catch some special apperances from some of your favorite blues artists!
Grand Rapids, as a community has welcomed us with open arms, which has made our lives a lot easier. They understand events and want to help the Boundary Waters Blues Festival succeed in their community. Grand Rapids,MN has an abundance of places to stay and eat.
